Based in Los Angeles, Shannon Murphy is an Emmy Award nominated independent music supervisor.

Shannon has built her experience supervising projects with a vast range of budgets. Working on everything from shorts and indie films, network TV shows, to streaming and some of the highest grossing theatrical releases of all time. This past year, Shannon launched her own company, Shared Noise Music Supervision, where she specializes in music for film and TV. 

She earned her first Emmy Award nomination for music supervising Marvel’s premiere series on Disney+, WandaVision, featuring original theme songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez (Frozen, Coco, The Book of Mormon). Not only did the song, “Agatha All Along”, accumulate Spotify streams in the millions, it landed on both the Billboard and iTunes charts (#1 on the soundtrack chart), and won the Emmy for Outstanding Original Music & Lyrics. This past year, Shannon also received two Guild of Music Supervisors Award nominations for her work supervising the Disney+ Marvel series, Ms. Marvel, as well as the Netflix film, Love in the Villa.

Shannon got her start in 2014 with the foremost music supervision company, Format Entertainment, where she learned from the industry’s principal Music Supervisors - Dave Jordan, Julianne Jordan, Julia Michels, and Jojo Villanueva. Coordinating with the team on projects such as Universal’s Straight Outta Compton and Sing, Paramount’s Daddy’s Home and Instant Family, as well as Marvel Studios films Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War & Endgame, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, & No Way Home. While at Format, she also contributed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, serving as Music Manager for all streaming TV series created by Marvel Studios for Disney+.

A passion for music encapsulates Shannon’s life outlook. She has a sensitive ear for sound and has developed an instinctual ability to recognize how music shapes our individual identities and transforms our personal connections when shared.
